Happy Thanksgiving! (well, almost)
Writing this story has been a long strange trip, but now it appears to be at an end. I've posted the last 2 chapters of the story to my website (ch 17 and 18). This story has been something different than my other stories and I appreciate everyone that sent me feedback on it. I'd also like to give a huge THANKS to Shan, my beta on this story. She really has been invaluable and honestly, I don't think the story would have been written if not for her support, encouragement and input. I'd also like to thank Rick, Anne Marie and Cathy for their support and hand holding throughout the whole process.Their encouragment was much appreciated, not to mention essential to me finishing this story.

Wednesday, November 12, 2008 Update:
It seems so strange to be updating this story in the middle of the week. For the most part, I've been posting on the weekends, generally because I have the most time to write then. But I got these 2 chapters done and thought I'd go ahead and post them now. Consequently, Chapters 15 and 16 of "The Wizard of West Wing" are now up on my website. Actually these chapters started out as one but got a little long so I cut it up into 2 chapters. I hope you enjoy them. We're wrapping things up and there should only be one more chapter.
Now that the story is back in the 'real world' the writing got a bit tricky for me (tricker than it already was to write the 'Oz' part of the story). In canon, this story would have taken place in and around Zoey's kidnapping and that, along with the VP selection were the two big plot lines in the opening episodes of Season 5. I fully contend that Josh wouldn't have gone crazy and traveled down the road marked "Amy - part 2 - The Horror Returns" if not for all the pressure and upheaval from these two events (or, you know, Aaron bailing out of the series). However, because I felt my story was already too complicated, I decided to remove Zoey's kidnapping from this universe. But that made writing the 'real world' parts a little challenging because that storyline was so infused in that part of canon. I did still need something for Josh to obsess over (besides Donna) so I left in the VP selection storyline. In any case, I hope I did it all justice and it makes some kind of sense (because, you know, the canon writers never screwed with timelines or continuity).
Just remember this takes place right around the 4th of July and Jefferson Lives (by the way, in my opinion, and I know people will disagree with me but Jeff. Lives would have been one of my favorite episodes in the series if not for the J/A kiss and Josh following Amy off the Portico like a puppy  right after he'd just gotten Donna a glass of champagne - it had that whole 'Donna as wife' - 'Amy as mistress' feel to me). Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now.
Anyway, the last chapter will start during the fireworks at the end of Jefferson Lives...oh, and did I mention there will be smut? I though some JD smut was needed to wash away the canon Amy factor.

Saturday, November 1, 2008 Update:
Hi all, I hope you all had a great Halloween! I've just posted Chapter 13 and 14 to my website. Sorry about the delay on posting these new chapters. For some reason Chapter 14 pulled an Energizer bunny on me (it kept going, and going, and going and going). I didn't have trouble writing it, I just had trouble finishing it and that delayed the final retooling I needed to do to Chapter 13. I know, I know, excuses, excuses. Anyway, we're getting toward the end of this story. I think there will only be 2-3 more chapters to it (famous last words for me I know).
Thanks to Shan for the beta on the two chapters. I hope you enjoy the new material and have a good week.

Hi guys, well I had to break my streak sooner or later. But at least it hasn't been TOO long since I posted the last chapter. I've just posted a new chapter of Wizard of West Wing to my website (ch 12). The good news is that Ch 13 is already about three-fourths of the way done so I'm hopeful that I'll be able to post the next chapter very soon. I hope you like the new chapter and keep reading. Well, this must be some kind of record for me. A new chapter two weeks in a row! Well, I've been working furiously on it so that I can hopefully have it done by Halloween (we'll see how it goes). I've just posted chapter 11. I hope you'll enjoy it. Thanks to Shan my beta for the input on this chapter.

Hi all. I've posted chapter 10 of Wizard of West Wing. I hope you all enjoy it. I've already started on the next chapter so I'm hoping to have it posted by next weekend. Feedback is always appreciated.
Oh, I've also pulled the masthead pics that I'd created for this story. Because the pics all but screamed the Wizard of Oz and the fic only has a passing resemblence I thought maybe it would confusing. But since I did have some people comment about them, I created a page for just the pics and nothing else if you'd like to see them. The page is called "Wizard of WW Pics."

Chapters 8 and 9 are now posted. These chapter are lower on funny and higher on angst. they're also kind of transitional. Originally, it was one chapter but I thought it was a little long so I split it into two. And because Shan asked for it and many others like Anne Marie seconded the motion I did throw in some naked Josh ogling. Thanks to Shan for her continued feedback, support and hand-holding despite my neurosis with this story.
Tuesday, September 16, 2008 Update:
This story is a bit different than I've done before. In fact, I think this is probably the weirdest thing I’ve ever written. While the first chapter is a bit angsty, the bulk of the story could best be called satire or maybe satirical fluff or maybe even a parody. Hopefully I’ve managed to bring the funny (at least a little bit). Mostly this is just a piece of gooey fluff that I'd like to have done for Halloween (although the story is set around the 4th of July), hopefully more a “treat” than a “trick.” Although it takes a while to show up, I swear there is some juicy Josh/Donna at the end. Please note although there are some elements from the Wizard of Oz, I’ve tried to make this story unique. There will be NO singing or fancy production numbers in this fic. It takes place during Commencement (Season 4).
A couple of things you have to know...in this fic, Josh and Charlie still go after the bottle of champagne, but Zoey does NOT get kidnapped, which means the President never steps down and there is no icky Josh/Amy kiss in Josh’s office (not that Amy still isn't up to no good where Josh is concerned). Amy is just working as Mrs. Bartlet’s COS and Josh hasn’t lost his mind. They are, however, still trying to find a VP to replace Hoynes.
Thanks always to my ever supportive betas Shan and Joell, they had their hands full with me and this fic as I was neurotic and insecure throughout the process. This fic was written at Shan’s insistence. I’m not sure if I should hug her or slug her, but I’m leaning toward the hugging. She was my creative consultant/executive producer, my Tommy Schlamme if you will, and she gave me so many wonderful ideas on this fic she really deserves a writing credit.
Because this story is so different for me, any feedback you could give me would be appreciated, just please don't skewer me too hard.
